Our Car Lock Change Techniques

  • First, our locksmith will want to unlock the door with the lock cylinder that you want to replace, keeping in mind that you might need to open the door from the inside if it is really damaged. The locksmith will then remove the window glass and then the window handle.
  • Next, our locksmith will want to unscrew the door lock indicator which is near the window and the remaining screws from the armrest and door handle tray.
  • At this point, the locksmith can carefully pry the clips away using a flat head screwdriver and will then remove the entire inside door panel.
  • With the use of needle-nose pliers, the technician will remove the bracket clip that keeps the door lock cylinder sturdy. The locksmith can accomplish this by sliding one hand to the back of the cylinder which should be able to be pushed out while simultaneously using one’s other hand to pull it away from the door from the outside.
  • Now the locksmith will be free to add the new door lock cylinder that was purchased by placing the rubber gasket on the portion of the cylinder that fits on the outside of the car door. The new bracket will be pushed on the cylinder to hold the gasket in place.
  • At this point, the whole lock can be put back into its place in the door. This, of course, must be done carefully to ensure that it is properly aligned with the cylinder’s slot.
